Why blog about sleep

My sleep story

Well I have been a chronic insomniac since I was in my late 20s. It started off because I suffered from severe eczema (which turned out to be a food allergy/intolerance) and because of it, I could not sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time.

In my early 30s, I got  job with a project management company for the Sydney Olympics and my real battle with sleep started then. For a period of about 4  years I never got more than 4 hours sleep / night. I was driven with my work.  I was normally the last to leave work, occasionally working past midnight and often to be among the first one to work . I worked in IT, and when you roll out systems such as networks or new sosftware, LOFI – last out and first in was often the case.

After the Olympics things improved, but then we had kids and my first born child never slept more than 3 hours at a time; waking up several times a night.

So I am always trying to find better ways to sleep. I will use this blog to share my findings whether it be research, testing and experiences.

Why Blog about sleep

Jealousy  – I am jealous of people who can sleep well, who can sleep in for hours (until midday (like my teenage son).

I want to feel better – There is nothing than a great night sleep. It helps you mental and physical state. You feel more relaxed as result.

I want to feel more alive – I know that high energy days are a result of deeper sleeps. Living life at a higher vibration level would be awesome.
